I’ve seen the whites of their eyes,
I’ve seen them bloodshot red,
I’ve watched them cry and agonize,
And yet I’ve shot them dead.
I’ve seen the whites of His eyes,
I’ve seen them fill with tears,
Like glass filled mirrors they’d vaporize,
Absorbing all my fears.
I see the whites of my eyes
Reflected in His own,
The red absorbed, I realize
I cannot cast a stone.
I see the whites of their eyes,
I see them white and red
And know that there’s yet paradise
In all the tears we shed.
